Read and follow all of these directions for today. Refer back to this page as you do the lesson. You may not go to any other websites. You may not use flash drives or CD's. You may not use the printer.


 Monday, May 12, 2008, Web Lesson 6

1) Do Objective B-92: Web Lessson 6. Go to the online resources listed below. Using your required, low profile clipboard, loose-leaf paper and pen , write something about what you learned about each of the websites visited . Begin each of the notes with the title of the website visited. The number of sides of written notes expected for full credit will be announced during class. Drawings are not included in the number of sides. Be sure to include a title and use the proper heading format and to write notes.

2) Go to the SCILINKS and use those that are listed under the teacher's favorites. If you can't sign-in with your ID and password, then sign-in as a guest and use the codes for the scilinks. The scilinks are on the website and each scilink topic includes a number of websites. The scilinks were selected from Chapters 20 and 22 . The topics for the scilinks are:

animal behavior

hibernation

climate/weather

tundra

taiga

temperate forests

tropical rain forest

grasslands

deserts/desertification

succession

3) Try to go to all of all of the scilinks and all of the websites. There are numerous websites for each scilink. You need to look quickly at all of them and then go back and focus on several websites that are interesting, interactive, and that help you learn and become enthusiatic about the topic.

4) Use this format for your notes: a) List the title of each scilinks. b) List the title of each website visited under the scilink title. c) Give several lines of notes under each website title. d) Do not skip lines, stretch your words out, or leave wide margins. e) Underline the titles. f) diagrams don't count towards the total sides.

5) If you have finished the required assignment, you check your grades at www.gradeconnect.com.

6) If you have time you may go the Entertaining Websites Links or visit The Catholic Islander

7) Be sure to do the assignment as given in the other period of this class.

5) Do Objective B-70 in the other part of this class. Objective B-70 is the vocabulary for Chapter 15. Write the complete definitions for all of the bold-type words. Number them and underline them. This should be handed-in at the start of class on Monday, April 21, 2008 or today if finished.
 
6) Be sure to read and study and know Chapters 14, 15, 16, 17 and all the handouts, notes, and assignments for the Unit 5 test.

6) Be sure to read and study and know Chapters 9, 21, 10,11 and all the handouts, notes, and assignments for the Unit 3 test on Monday March 10, 2008. Then be ready for the semester exam on Wednesday, March 12, 2008 on Chapters 1 to 11 and 21 and all the handouts (including the 3 pages on evolution) , notes, and assignments.

6) Be sure to read and study and know Chapters 9, 21, 10,11 and all the handouts, notes, and assignments for the Unit 3 Test before March 14, 2007. Then be ready for the semester exam before March 14 on Chapters 1 to 11 and 21 and all the handouts, notes, and assignments.

Friday, January 18, 2008 - Web Lesson 1

 

1) Register for Biology Class at www.gradeconnect.com Follow the instructions on the handout.

2) Register for Scilinks. Follow the instructions on the handout. Go to www.scilinks.org

3) Do Objective B-07, Web Lesson 1. Sign-on to scilinks.org and then go to the online resources listed below. Write something about what you learned about each of the websites visited. Take the entire period and write at least 2 sides of meaningful notes on as many different websites as possible. Hand-in the assignment by Tuesday, January 22, 2008 (or earlier.) If you have any problems with scilinks.org, solve them later and write something about the topics from your textbook.

4) Go to the SCILINKS using the codes on the sides of the pages in Chapter 1 and 2. You can also go to "My Teacher's Favorites" and look for the the following topics that correspond to the codes. Chapter 1 includes these topics: ecology, food chain/food web, matter and energy, scientific investigations, population, carrying capacity, human population growth, There are other topics under "My Teacher's Favorites", don't do them.

5) Do Objective B-08 for Homework due on or before Tuesday, January 22, 2008. You will be given the time to start this homework or finish it during the period that you are not in the computer room.

3) Be sure to read and study Chapters 1, 2, 3, and 4 for Unit 1. The Test is scheduled for Friday, January 25, 2008.
